Thanks. I'm rapt with it obviously, but do feel bad for everyone else. I wish everyone could have such a windfall :(

As for the credit file, not sure what to suggest hat you don't already know. I know its easy enough to add a notice of correction but apparently the jury is out as to whether it even does any good or not. I know Vodafone can remove it easly enough, but I think getting them to will be the uphill struggle.

You strike me as the kind of person that tackles your issues one by one rather than all at once, and Vodafone is the next one on the list. Would that be a fair assumption? I'm positive it will all turn out fine.

Hypothetically, if you weren't to get any corrections done to your file, what would be the date of the most recent default (if any)?

  • the most recent default is over three years ago now, Ive not had a missed or a late payment in well over a year so we are on our way, I just want them all settled to try and make it look less ill.... The one at the time approach is misleading, I am tackling everything... but I have a SPECIAL focus, that can change if necessary!
    Trying to shift that debt!

Well everyone... my day has finally come. I'd checked my internet banking about 15 times today and all of a sudden my PPI reclaim money suddenly came in!!!!! :j:j:j:j:j

I stared at it for a while. Took a screenshot and saved it to my computer so I can remind myself of this feeling in future, then sent it all over to good ole' Barclaycard. The balance at Barclaycard hasn't updated yet of course, don't expect it to until at least tomorrow, and then my friends, I will officially be debt free!!!!!!

I'm so happy. What an amazing journey. I've grown so much as a person and learned so much about money, credit and finance in general during my time behind the 8 ball. Anyone reading this I urge you to make this site and forum part of your every day life. I will remain on here as I want to increase my savings as much as possible now.

Thank you all so much for any and all support. I've also messaged Martin with a quick description of my tale and a massive thank you, don't think I'll get a reply from 'The Man' himself though. My hero haha.

    TJ

PS better go update my signature... or will I wait until Barclaycard confirm receipt? Yeah... I'll do that. Don't want to jynx it!

:j I'm so pleased for you! Sat at my desk with a silly smile on my face thinking of how you will be feeling right now.

I echo you completely about this forum, it's going to be the making of me financially I think.

Congrats again, can't wait to see the updated signature when it clears :D
