Lost Contract Phone And Osps

Can someone please help. I took out a 12 month contract with One Stop Phone Shop about 2 months ago. Part of the deal was 3 free months insurance. Unfortunately I have now lost the phone. As I am within the free 3 months insurance I called OSPS, who said I wasnt covered for loss. Can someone tell me if I am covered or are they trying to fob me off. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to check the policy details to see if you are covered or not (though most mobile phone insurances do make it difficult to claim for loss as you are required to keep hold of the phone virtually constantly).

I dont actually have the policy to hand. But all I know is that you get 3 free months as standard with each new contract.

Here's a link to their site. You can click on the link to give you the details of the policy:

I note, after taking a swift glance, that the insurance does not cover 'loss'. If your phone has been stolen, then that's a different matter. I noted the following nasty exclusions:

    EXCLUSIONS
    This Certificate does not cover:

1 The first £25.00 of each and every claim, increased to £100.00 of each and every claim where Your Telephone is 3G enabled.

2 Any theft unless accompanied by a Crime Reference number. Lost Property numbers are not acceptable in support of a Theft claim.

3 Any claim involving theft unless reported to the appropriate Police authorities and the Network within 24 hours of the incident

They tend to give you a low-level of cover which normally doesn't cover for loss, not a lot that you can do really.
2p off is still 2p off!
