Amazon sent me 2 instead of 1 - what would you do?

If you want to keep it you probably will get away with it. If the invoice numbers are exactly the same then Amazon's records won't have a record of two parcels leaving the warehouse. There will only be one record on the system with that invoice number. If the invoice numbers are even slightly different then they will know you have received 2 parcels. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Not necessarily.
For two parcels to be sent out, each order would need to be booked with the courier for which they will have records for -- especially considering you can view dispatch data online.
It just depends on whether their system is designed to detect the discrepencie.0 -

Seriously, mistakes happen. It's churlish and opportunistic to benefit from those mistakes. What would your friend say if it had been a mistake made by you in Amazon's favour (e.g. you'd somehow managed to pay them twice)? Should they just think 'customer messed up, we'll keep the money'?
Look... is this a box-set from a faceless, automated, distribution GIANT... or an Old Ladies Purse containing her pension and only photo of her wedding day?
If Amazon wants an item returned, it (not "they") will contact you and request a return... which it will pay for.
That is precisely how tough this dilemma is.
With regard to the example above... It would be necessary for the customer to contact Amazon and ask for money to be refunded.
I sincerely doubt it would notice or correct the mistake unprompted.
Similarly, I doubt it would notice or appreciate in any way the lighthearted nature of a polite return letter, or the incredible depths of a customer's honesty.

I work in the IT department for a major mail order company and deal with this stuff all the time this won't be an issue at all. Especially as Royal Mail are the main people responsible for delivering Amazon parcels there will be no comeback. Royal Mail don't give tracking information for Amazon orders.
I don't know Amazon's systems but they are all pretty standard and there is very little chance that there system can cope with one product existing on one invoice number being in two parcels. Almost certainly the first one will get overwritten by the second one.
So if the OP wants to keep it they will almost certainly get away with it. Worse case scenario if they contact you in 3 months time just say you never received it. They can't prove you did and you can argue you never reported it missing as the one item you turned up arrived! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I used to think this but things never work out that well when your honest! It will be just your luck to own up to this, they send you a return envelope, you post it back, it gets lost in the post and they charge you!

Absolutely, and in my experience Amazon show a lot of goodwill to customers - I'd like to think that goes both ways?0
