House sales drop

I admit they dont have swimming pools, you can do a rightmove search for a 20 mile radius of manchester or liverpool and then find the worst looking 3 bed semi that is 50k or under and post the link yourself if you want mate.
Saves dragging this one out doesnt it:)
Fair enough. There are 22 3-bed semis within a 20 miles of Manchester. Most of them do look pretty uninhabitable though so, going back to your original point, it's not that surprising that they are not selling. For a decentish 3-bed semi in most reasonable areas of Manchester I think you're probably looking at £130,000 plus.0 -

Uninhabitable.
These houses you class as uninhabitable are the same houses that were selling for a ridiculous price during the boom.0 -

Rubbish. A 3-bed semi on for £50,000 now in the Manchester area will be a sh*thole. So it was a sh*thole back in 2006. It might have been on sale for slighty more back then (£70,000?) but that's about it.0 -
Here's one of the 22 houses:

A sh*thole in Oldham on for £49k. If you look up the street on house prices you could buy houses down that street for £10,000 in 2001, one sold for £50,000 in 2004, then the highest price was £76,000 in 2007.
£49k still seems massively high to me.0 -

Sorry mine and many other hard working peoples price range is not up to your standards cleaver.
Cant put a price on a clear conscience mate:)0 -

I don't even know what this means. Can you explain? Why wouldn't my conscience be clear?
That house is an ex-council house, on a grotty road, in a grotty part of Oldham which is a pretty grotty place anyway. I'm not really being that snobby by saying that that house is a sh*thole am I?
And stop using the phrase 'hard working people'. It's such a pointless tabloid soundbyte and doesn't really mean anything.0 -

See the other thread regarding your conscience.
Yes you are being very snobby because you are coming across as a massive stuck up tw*t.
Hard working people is not a soundbite, it refers to the people of this country who are grafting as hard as they can day in day out and getting nowhere fast. Were should the hard working people be living and how much is an acceptable price to pay for a roof over their head.
Hard working people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!10 -

In what respect? That I don't shop at Tescos but yet I don't mind if other people do? You sound a bit stressed out Jimmy.Hard working people is not a soundbite, it refers to the people of this country who are grafting as hard as they can day in day out and getting nowhere fast.
It doesn't refer to that. "Hard working people getting nowhere fast" refers to that. I work hard but am getting on okayish. I imagine a few other people are too. Hell, I know quite a few lazy people who are doing just dandy. And, like you, I know some people who work their b*llocks off and aren't getting anyhere. But that phrase is lazy journalism, you must know that? Were should the hard working people be living and how much is an acceptable price to pay for a roof over their head.
This is just a strange, nonsensical question. Hard working people should, and do, live in the same places as downright lazy people, moderately lazy people, vaugely hard working people, average work ethic people, quite hard working people and very hard working people. The price all these people pay for a house will be the market value for that particular house, regardless of their work ethic.0 -

I think you know quite well that the stuck up tw*t bit was not referring to were you do your big shop.
Who mentioned journalism, i dont need a newspaper to tell me that i am surrounded by hard working people on a daily basis and most of them are getting nowhere fast.
I think you are getting a bit stressed pal, clear conscience gets rid of stress, or so i have heard:)0 -

Genuinely still not clear in which way I've been stuck up. Was it when I called an awful house on an awful street in an awful bit of awful Oldham a 'sh*thole'?
On the hard working thing, how do you feel about people who don't work very hard, spend a lot of their day surfing the net, but earn a great deal of money. My friend Gav fits this bill. He's a nice chap though.0
