I use these http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Spice-ls-Right
ok, it's not a recipe book, but they supply all spices that you need for the curry and basic instructions on how to cook the curry. Once you've got the right spices and the basics, you can let loose.0 -
Me too! My copy must be at least 20 years old and has the stains to prove it.
circa 1982
I had people round last week for a birthday 'tea' (disclaimer ... no tea was actually consumed on the premises ) they'd asked me to do curry & all the recipes came from that book
in spite of the beef & chicken dishes, the most popular was the potatoes with sesame, cummin & black/brown mustard seeds, so simple but I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't love itzippychick wrote: »I NEED IT!!!!!scheming_gypsy wrote: »I use these http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Spice-ls-Right

My OH is a big Pat Chapman fan (founder of the curry club). I have used http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pat-Chapmans-Curry-Bible-Restaurant/dp/034068562X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1316720234&sr=1-1 by him and it really does have the stuff from scratch, But I can't say which is his very best.0

Must admit I'm a fan of Anjum Anand - some healthier dishes but still tasty as anything. Oh I love curry!!At least the fish fingers are still frozen, that's what I keep telling myself (Truly Madly Deeply)0
