  • We had a mortgage with Halifax for our house in London - later paid off. Then moved to N.I. after selling our house. They would accept a change of address - obviously wanted us to keep our current account in their London branch...and our cash ISA now over 40K worth. And that is how Halifax treat their loyal customers/savers.
Seriously thinking of switching our "English" bank account to a "Northern Irish" account ... within the Halifax ! We 've got nothing to lose ....or gain for that matter !!!!

Great stuff, Both OH and me now registered.

It wouldnt work for me with the fixed rate ISA i have so i just input the details for our current account.
As I read it they add up all the savings you have altogether and as long as they add up to more than £5k then you qualify,
have i read that right please.

My OH and I both have 2 yr fixed rate ISAs with Halifax and because the paper documentation only refers to roll nos., I went online to find the Sort Codes and account nos. and then entered the draw without problems.

However, while online, I noticed that the interest rate had been reduced from 3.65% (as shown on our paper documentation) to 3.5% on both accounts.

I called CS and they have no idea why this has happened but will look into it.

Worth checking if you have a 2yr Isa with Halifax.
