Yes I got the book for christmas and I wondered about all this. I like loads o the stuff-rubber chicken etc old style way because I think you are getting a welath of knowledge that due to modern day living is actually going to be lost if we don't share it.....however Ml suggested he would make more money rather than spend extremes saving money-he said a lot of these people are "time ricH". I'm in a bit of a quandry over this??-should I but more ready meals and earn more money /have a cleaner/more childcare/shop for less bargains etc etc
I can't quite fathom out how you decide the balance?
Anyone know?0 -

hi cannyscot, it's a pretty hard thing to fathom out the balance in some ways, if you ask me. I make sure I always cook from scratch because ready meals are so bad for you. I don't have a cleaner either because the whole idea makes me uncomfortable and in any case my flat is pretty small (and I'm not one of these people who feels it has to be spick and span). Frugal solutions to problems are often environmentally better as well (because there's such emphasis on reusing & repairing things) so I try wherever I can to be "old style", but I don't have a lot of time to do some things. Then again I don't have a lot of money either!! So sometimes I'm forced into reusing things. Good question, hope other people come along to say what they think too!!!0 -
Having read this womens feeble attempts to be witty, and to no doubt enhance one of her own agendas (ie keep writing this rubbish) i have to ask myself why do people like this write!

to find out shes not exactly contributed much to the enhancement of man (unlike the people who have shared tips for the book)0 -

handbags at dawn!!!! :rotfl:
no it isn't great management but I don't think she thought she was badmouthing him – she agrees with what she thinks he thinks, which is that old style isn't really worth bothering with0 -

Surely she cant be that stupid to think he'd release an entire book with tips not worth bothering about!0 -

I absolutely agree!! & if you add in the factor that you have to work x number of hours to pay for whatever you buy, old style can save you time by saving you money0
