Hi all,
I'm a newcomer to posting here, but have been reading through the OS forum threads - so inspiring, so many amazing tips & ideas!
Next month is mine & DH's 10th anniversary. I'd like to do something nice for him, and thought maybe a box of 10 little gifts would be nice, one to celebrate each year together.
I cringe now when I think what we wasted on 'stuff' in the past
So I was hoping for some thoughtful and cost-effective inspiration!
So far, I'm thinking some HM chocs, picture from our first holiday together in a frame, little bottle of his favourite whiskey (also drunk on many occasions together
), voucher for me to make his favourite meal. But that's a far as I've got!
I've read through the hamper ideas threads, but any new suggestions would be most welcome! Thank you

Hiya
Take a look at our celebrations board... Christmas & Other Yuletide Festivals
While the current title suggests that it's all about Christmas - in fact it covers all sorts of celebrations and anniversaries.
Also our Marriages Board will have threads on anniversaries... What about something for a new hobby or project that you might do together? Or even some holiday brochers to save up for anniversary 20!0

Ah, thank you Squeaky! I shall browse over there now
rachbc, love the CD idea, thanks! And the first date idea
Gingerbiscuit, I do like the brochure idea, perhaps I'll fashion some kind of money bank / tin too. We had big plans to drive across the US for our 10th, sadly finances are just about stretching to a couple of days in Cornwall. Still looking forward to it though!0 -
making tokens is great, a massage, breakfast in bed etc. and i love the photo idea, how about making a lavender heart for his draws and embroidering the date of your wedding on it0

Maybe you could get your ten things to relate to the traditional anniversary gifts. For example:
Year 2 - Paper - Holiday Broucher
Year 5 - wood - for a wooden picture frame
Year 8 - salt - bath salt for your relax and massage token
Year 9 & 10 - Copper and tin - a coin to go in your tin holiday money box
That leaves years 1,3,4,6, 7 (cotton, leather, fruit and flowers, sugar, wool).
What a nice idea, I'll borrow that for my 10yr anniversary if you don't mind"A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others" Barnyard the children's film.

Of course not
I love the idea of relating it to the 'traditional' anniversary gifts! I'll give some thought to the other years, thank you
ajs88, the embroidered heart is a fab idea too, thank you! Very glad I posted now0 -
The heart could be your cotton year. ohhhhh....I could get quite into this!"A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others" Barnyard the children's film.

I know, it's quite addictive once you start thinking!
I will use the heart for the cotton year. For sugar (yr 6), I'll make some fudge rather than chocs.
Just leaves leather and wool, hmm. I can't knit for toffeeFruit & flowers are easy enough, will try to come up with something a little creative...:D

Paper - I book or ticket
Cotton - new pants! Though embroidered heart is nicer
Leather - wallet?
fruit/ Flowers - seeds/ plant to grow soemthing to eat!
wood - a tree seedling?
Sugar - hm sweeties
Wool - gloves or hat for winter
Pottery -
copper - a shiney penny form the year you were married as a token towards saving for something
Tin -People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
