vodafone out of bundle data costs doubling

I just read http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/4789-vodafone-out-of-plan-data-costs-to-double.html which suggests that Vodafone's charge outside the inclusive data bundle will go from £5 per 500MB to £5 per 250MB

I've actually not yet gone above the limit on any of 4 (!) accounts I have on vodafone, but I expect data usage to continue increasing, and are getting closer each month.

What's the legitimacy around vodafone changing these conditions. Since I haven't yet exceeded the limits it's difficult to argue I'd be affected as it stands, but it seems unfair for such a significant change to occur within a contract period

Do I have any rights? What's the precedent here? Should I start exceeding limits now to demonstrate I'd get affected?

[I'd likely be on three if I could, but coverage issues make that tricky]
