My landlady....

Hi All,
not sure if this is the right section, but here goes:
We moved into our current rental place in April (we own a flat but it's far to small for our brood, so we rent it out.), anyway, we got a call from the letting agents today saying that they had just had a call from our landlady asking if we could move out early, at the end of February, as her family were coming over. They didn't specify how long though. This would mean, moving our three kids and all our stuff somewhere else. We could move back to the flat, but it's a small 2 bed.
All I want to know is; what are our rights? I'm aware that she can give us 3 months notice etc, but does it have to be a valid reason?
I'm really beginning to worry even though nothing is definite yet.
Any help or advice would be splendid.
Thanks
Tom

The right section is http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16 - housingHi All,
not sure if this is the right section,
I suggest that you repost there, because all the expertise here is about hanging doors and pipe bosses.
And if you do post your query on the other forum, do please edit you post here to say you have done so.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I'd ask your question over on the house buying, renting & selling board, as you'll get more replies there.
You moved in April 2010. How long is your AST for?
Also, you talk of moving back in to the flat you rent. When did you rent that out, and how long is the AST for?
Are you sure the agency was asking you to move everything out temporarily to allow the ll's family to stay? To me it sounds like you are being asked to leave, permanently.0 -
We are being asked to move out completely. Just seems a bit weird that because her family are coming over, she is willing to lose our tenancy.
I'll try the other forum though. Thanks.2014 wins:
