I am moving out and into a houseshare and have only had Sky for 6 months, does anyone know if they will allow me to cancel?

Sky will not let you get away scott free. You can leave but will have to pay up the rest of your contract (so you have still paid for 1 year).

okay thanks. Do you reckon they would set up some kind of payment plan? Im not just moving away because I fancy it, it's because of debt and a break up so the bill was being split.0

Nope,Sky will want the money in full, the only way you can pay in installments is if you come to an arrangement with the debt collector that Sky'll pass the debt onto.0

I would try hard to pay it though before DC, or your credit will be trashed.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I sympathise with you as my Daughter is in a similar position, moving from a shared house and sky couldnt fulfil the full contract with broadband as it wont work. She does though have to keep the TV contract for 18 month! SKY though can mess customers around with no penalties, its only customers that have no rights, exceptional circumstances or otherwise.
Sky really are the worlds worst for customer satisfaction .
I think its time for more competition.0 -
on what planet is your daughter on an 18 month contract with sky?
op, if you want to get out of it as cheap as possible, cancel the package down to the very lowest package and pay that off, it'll save you a few quid at leasthelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Not too sure where the 18 month contract was derived, but young people house sharing are just putty in SKYs hands when it comes to arranging wortless packages!
Incidently.......can you change your package to include a lower term contract?0 -

The best bet is to knock the package down to the bare minimum and keep paying it off for the remainder of the contract. I had to do the same a few years back, it was a pain, but I didn't have an lump sum to pay off in one go.I sympathise with you as my Daughter is in a similar position, moving from a shared house and sky couldnt fulfil the full contract with broadband as it wont work. No they're not. You daughter knew she was entering into a contract with a minimum term. It's not Sky's fault she is now moving.0
