A lot of people simply don't check, myself included.
Totally agree people see the yellow and assume it is a good offer!0 -
How are these Tesco shelf edge labels printed? Is it from a copy of an unchangeable file issued by head office, or does the store enter details into a piece of software?
The labels are created at headoffice and all we can do is print them instore, the only choice we get is whether we want a small, medium or large label. If we find a faulty label we can't correct it instore so we have to wait for head office to change it.
The label system even chooses wether it's a yellow/white label (providing the printer is loaded correctly).
I saw a funny label yesterday for a digital camera... there was a tesco price with a competitor (argos) price shown next to it but the Argos price was cheaper!Success' of 2012:-Debts:Student Loans: £28,7580 -

I saw the Tesco High Juice one, that's the one I was thinking of when I posted earlier.Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -
We saw a good one in tesco yesterday. White chocolate buttons 21p, or buy 3 for £1 - the bloke at the till even said to me you know these are 3 for a pound (as I'd put 2 in my basket ) and I pointed out they were 21p! To be fair all the other packets of sweets were still 42p each roughly, but it is so silly!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

My photo, the Diet Coke, looks a bit out of place as it's the only one to actually offer a saving, albeit 1p! I just wanted to show up the Sainsburys near me for having a reduced section with pointless deals like this. There were plenty of these cans marked at this price, yet a few aisles away there are multipacks where the cans work out to near half the price. The reduced section looked like a jumble sale, with inevitably a mounting pile of the same unsold products every week. I hope that they sort it out now that they have refurbished the store!0

I was shopping online at Asda on Tuesday night and noticed that Nescafe Original 300g is £5, (£1.67 per 100g), the 500g pack is £12.26 (£2.45 per 100g) and the Kilo pack is £18 (£1.80 per 100g) so it is cheaper to buy the 300g jar than the bigger packs.
Also like someone else mentioned the Eco refill is £3.98 for 150g (£2.65 per 100g) so that is the most expensive way of buying it. Why? They only have the foil to pay for and not a glass jar. Seems daft to me.
I have also noticed that in some cases they put the comparison prices for similar products in different measurements as well to make it harder to work out. EG they might put x per 100ml on one jar, x per 100cl on another and x per 100g on a third.0 -
Saw this one in Tesco not too long ago:0

Seems to be a recurring error in stores that the ticketing folk never notice or bother to correct! I have a few on my Flickr site as well0

I am the saddo who is babyrut's hubby - I try to update it daily with the latest silly offers I find, but they are not always as obvious as "buy one for 99p or 2 for £2.50". Sometimes you need an A-level in maths to work them out. I have put one up today which was for Tesco own-brand beans, a 4 cans for £1.30 (33p/can) or 6 cans for £2.08 (35p/can). I think many people would pick up the 6 cans assuming it would be better value.
I do like the really obvious ones best though!0
