pipex connection problems and more

Hi
I recently moved house (only 1/2 mile), and had my BT number transferred from my old house to this.
I rang pipex to tell them I wished to transfer my Broadband connection from one house to the other.
I didn't think this would cause too much of a pronblem as I was keeping the same number.
However it took about 10 days for them to do this after I moved in.
Since this time I have had a really crappy connection, which drops every few minutes. I also loose it if anyone uses the phone, or answers it when ringing.
I have also noticed that the phone line is very crackly when talking on the phone.
I've contacted BT who say the phone line is fine, and pipex who can't find anything wrong.
By a process of elimination I have worked out that the way to keep the connection for longer is to take the phone of the hook, wait for the dial tone to go off, then the dead tone, and once it is silent the internet connection usually stay on for a lot longer !!
Obviously I don't want to continue like this, what should I do ?
The second problem is that they have closed my email account and given me another one.
I did not ask for this, and it has created all sorts of problems.
I no longer have access to the most important email account I had, and have a new one which no one knows !
I really can't be arsed to change my email addy on all the various sites I use on a regular basis, I'm thoroughly pee'd off.
Think I might drop them !

the filters need changing
broadband drops occur when the phone rings, if the filters are not doing their job.... its that, or you haven't put a filter somewhere you should have0 -

I've got filters on both of the sockets in the house.
They and the modem are about three or four years old, so could be faulty I suppose.
This doesn't explain why the phone line is so crackly thou ?0 -
