We've always used the Lindam Easy Fit one, fairly cheap and has fitted every room/stairs we've wanted them to. 5 stars from 516 reviews in Argos and it's on offer as well: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3763478/c_1/1|category_root|Nursery|14417537/c_2/2|14417537|Baby+monitors+and+safety+gates|14417612/c_3/3|cat_14417612|Safety+gates+and+guards|14417615.htmDFW by end of June 2016...! Am I right in thinking that pressure gates have a bottom bar that you have to step over. In this case I dont want to trip over anything in the dark like when i let the cat out or coming downstairs to the nursery. Can the fixed gates be attached to the banisters or do they have to be wall mounted
thanks0 -

Yes, pressure mounted gates have a bar across the bottom, and should not be used at the tops of stairs.
Fixed gates need to be bolted on both sides to the walls, bannister or wherever you're fitting them (I have them across our patio doors and they're bolted to the doorframes).Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

thanks, i that case i think fixed mounted will be best option, I will need 4 as there are 2 flights of stairs. The two on the middle floor will have to be wall and banister attached. I have seen these in mothercare that look ok and the offer is good too.
