Tuesday 20th Sept - What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today?!

Yorkshire Belle - sorry to hear about the window - at least your son is taking responsibility though. I think I'd offer to contribute some - but at the end of the day, the parents were accepting the risk letting the kids play near the window, so I wouldn't pay it all I don't think!

thanks for the reply; I will offer them something, just trying to decide what is about right. kids ehh!Getting there...slowly!
GC : must do better
NSD: very rare
No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0 -
La escocesa - thanks
hope all goes well with your mortgage application, will keep everything crossed for us both, it's a nightmare of a process, so complicated! I'm trying not to read any papers as it's all doom and gloom on the housing front, but then the papers never have anything nice to say do they?! Keep us posted on your progress...
DawnW - it is indeedy! But at least you're buying a little bit more of your house every month instead of lining a landlord's pocket, we worked out how much we'd paid in rent a while back and nearly fainted!:heartpuls "A wise man should have money in his head, but not in his heart" -Jonathon Swift :heartpuls:beer:0 -
La_escocesa wrote: »Pernicious - re yesterday's post - yip, that's exactly how I feel - deep down I know it will be better to have more space as there is no way we can stay in the flat until the market recovers. The thing is that if I sold now I'd lose around £20k so we're going to keep it/rent it out and move to a bigger place in the meantime. Plus, the flat is just mine so it'll be nice to move to a place that hubby and I both own together
So v excited.
Now I'm just a teeny bit annoyed about booking our holiday to South Africa for next April (on a 0% card at the min) but hey ho - what's done is done - we've always wanted to go to and this is our best opportunity (OH's buddy is getting married over there). Guess we'll just need to have even more 'frugal focus' in the meantime
Sounds like you're definitely doing the right thing then as you don't want to lose out on that much! Hopefully you'll actually end up better off when you find someone to rent it.
Aww I'm really happy for you, hope the mortgage plans go well! That was pretty stressful for us & not something I want to go through again any time soon (but may have too after our fixed rate ends next year).
Yup just be as frugal as you can in other ways & it'll hopefully balance out!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57
