    Hi guys

Pernicious - re yesterday's post - yip, that's exactly how I feel - deep down I know it will be better to have more space as there is no way we can stay in the flat until the market recovers. The thing is that if I sold now I'd lose around £20k so we're going to keep it/rent it out and move to a bigger place in the meantime. Plus, the flat is just mine so it'll be nice to move to a place that hubby and I both own together :) So v excited. :) Now I'm just a teeny bit annoyed about booking our holiday to South Africa for next April (on a 0% card at the min) but hey ho - what's done is done - we've always wanted to go to and this is our best opportunity (OH's buddy is getting married over there). Guess we'll just need to have even more 'frugal focus' in the meantime ;)

Thanks Ziggy - you'll need to come for lunch, neighbours as we are ;)

cattyboo - I'm with you re 'waiting for a mortgage to come through' stress - I got my offer pack the day before yesterday though and then it was wrong so I've had to send it back! Just when you think everything is organised!! I agree that this place is by far the nicest board and a few folk who post regularly are debt free too so you are more than welcome :)

 Yorkshire Belle - I like the 'take away anything that beeps' punishment ;)

Today's list to keep me frugally focussed looks like this one:
    > Brekkie at home
    > Put 5p from OH's change in the penny jar
    > Free cuppa x 2 @ work - they've even got Earl Grey today
    > Tidying round tonight
    > Big shop time - do a list tonight before we go tomorrow
    > Knitting more of a beret I'm making
    > Check out another knitting pattern - knitting a pal a cowl neck for her 30th and her trip to northern Europe in January. Brrr. Hoping I can get the yarn I saw for sale for £4.50 :T Bought yarn for the same pattern for my sis and that cost £24 so will be a nice saving if my plan comes together ;)
    > Finish my book and start a new free kindle one :)
  • Afternoon all!
Another long day at the chalk face!

I have managed a few small things though...
    • Took packed lunch to work
    • Making tea from stores
    • Will make lunch for tomorrow
    • Taken dog to the park for a run around
    • Posted final ebay and amazon parcels
    • Requested payment from amazon (£15)
    • Checked banks - no surprises
    • Have a bit of work to do tonight
    • Will check for surveys and see what the total is up to - aiming for a £10 amazon voucher towards Xmas pressies
I also need to get stuff ready to phone the council about teh ongoing council tax saga from work tomorrow - when will they get it right?

    Evening ladies and gents!

Welcome to all newbies & returning "oldies"!

Today was a much better day than yesterday - thank goodness! Tomorrow and Thursday will be stressful, but at the end of it hopefully hopefully the thing I've been trying to get done for a year will be over, done, never to be thought of again!

However, because of the above, I've got to pop to Mr T's in a mo to get some chocolate for the chap who prevented the above imploding on me - not necessary in the slightest but think he needs some recognition! So - no NSD.

Yargo - don't :( about your online banking - no matter how bad it is, at least you know so you're not making it worse! I now know exactly how much is in my bank account every day, before I was scared to look at it and just kept spending blindly.
Candy - with you on your last item! Hope your first class goes well!
Yorkshire Belle - sorry to hear about the window - at least your son is taking responsibility though. I think I'd offer to contribute some - but at the end of the day, the parents were accepting the risk letting the kids play near the window, so I wouldn't pay it all I don't think!
DNMS - glad work wasn't so bad!
Pernicious - jealous of your holiday!

Anyhoo, best go to Tesco before it shuts! Have a great evening all!

    Kxx

Well, I can safely say I have broken all records and done NO small things today :o

Candy, actually, I always think you sound really motivated :T

And Catty, I am debt free (now!) apart from my mortgage, but that is a whopping great debt - isn't it ??

I had to go away for work at silly o'clock yesterday morning and stayed at the worst hotel ever (speaking as someone who has a lot of experience of grotty work hotels) and no, THAT isn't my job :rotfl:

Made my excuses and left earlier than I had intended (mainly cos of silly amounts of things come up back at the office though  - piles of stuff to read and 'comment ' on - I wish I could be truly honest :rotfl:)

    Had to BUY lunch

But luckily OH cooked dinner :D and picked me up from the station :)

And now I have a glass of wine :)

But have to be back at work early tomorrow :(

And late back :(, so probably not much achieved again - but I will at least take my own lunch :)

    [STRIKE]Smile[/STRIKE] :)

Hope everyone had a good day :)
