RAC, AA or another?

Can I just mention in response to the post re. females at night and branded vans...We've been with the RAC for years and had all sorts of subcontractors come out to us - it just depends which part of the country you happen to be in at what time! Although, they have all been within the hour, often far quicker and also utterly professional...I did feel a bit wary of a 3 hour ride home in a tow truck with a driver/mechanic who wasn't RAC and could have been anyone!
We're now changing from the RAC becuase they quoted us a £158 renewal, dropped it to £97 upon me phoning up to complain and still won't match the AA's introductory offers on the net.0 -

RAC Breakdown through Broker Direct Assistance.
One product and one price - total simplicity.
This is a great deal and if you PM Stooby (see posts above this one) he will send the details you need to get cover for £60!
Quote from a competitiors website for your information "our policy will provide RAC cover as follows:
* Roadside assistance
* Roadside recovery
* At home
* Onward travel
* European assistance"
I also have the above cover from Stooby for £60 !

I have also bought stooby's RAC vehicle-based cover for £60 and am posting this message because I found him to be very courteous, efficient and professional. I really cannot sing his praises highly enough, and I have absolutely no connection with him or his independent insurance brokers!
I PM'd him and he responded promptly with comprehensive attachments, a quotation, terms and conditions etc. I then e-mailed him about 8 times in one day with various questions, and each time he responded at the speed of light! After giving him my personal and vehicle details, I phoned him to pay by credit card. I received various documents from him in the post the very next day, including my credit card receipt.
And then, in London, the snow came.. and froze my battery with it... After waiting 24 hours for the 'At Home' part of the cover to become effective, I phoned the RAC who arrived within 20 minutes and brought my car back to life using a trusty jump lead thing!
So I highly recommend stooby's cover if you think that £60 for 5 RAC services is good value!
By the way, thanks also to tallica who posted the link to an offer for cheaper promotional RAC cover above direct from their website. I was about to take out that cover as I only really need Roadside and At Home cover for 2 people driving 1 car, which was only £40 using her link (as that offer is free cover for a second person, i.e. joint cover for the price of single). But after stooby replied quickly to my PM, I found that paying only £20 more would also get me RAC's Recovery, Onward Travel and European services, so I thought this was good value.
So thanks stooby, tallica and all other helpful people out there! Forums like this help to restore my faith in human nature...0
