Euro car parking..parking fine from Spain

Hi,

I have just received a "notice to owner" of a parking fine from Spain of £105.13 ( allegedly for May ). I did hire a car but am not aware of the offence.

Should I pay and if so why to these people not the spanish authorities?

What happens if I don't?

Paul

Not sure what has happened here but are you being pursued by a UK company for an alleged debt for parking while you were in Spain?

Yeah some foreign authorities try to recover money from UK by using a UK debt-chaser.

    Ignore them.

They will quote all sorts of mumbo-jumbo but it's all clap-trap.

    Ignore.

  • Do I take it Euro Car Parks operate in Spain and found a UK vehicle to contravene its terms? Stranger things have happened.

Well you wouldn't owe the Spanish authorities anything for precisely the reason a private land incident doesn't make you owe the British authorities anything!

Perhaps you'll be made an honourary war criminal and Interpol will search for you! :)

Then again, maybe not. Euro Car Parks is a PPC and everything they generate is a total scam, ignore them.

cancel any debits you have with the car hire company, they will raid your bank now they have served notice.

    Get a grip people.

This is most likely a genuine 'local authority' parking fine [albeit in Spain].

Try google...you'll be amazed what you can find out....

Be that as it may, they will hardly extradite you for something this trivial. The operation costs big money.

The letter does have the details of the local "council" in Tarifa shown on it .I wonder if they farm the collection out to UK debt collectors.

It's not Euro Car Parks, so let's not get confused.

What's the name of the company who wrote to you?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
