Epson Stylus color 740 printer driver

I have searched the web for a driver for windows XP os to no avail and also e mailed Epson who have not replied to date.

Any suggestions?

You should get it to run with the NT 4.0 driver

The NT 4.0 Status Monitor is there as well, though try the driver first, usually Epson's need to be off until the installer ask for it to be switched on

Hi sorry for that.

if you you look at the link I gave you there is a driver for Windows 2000 (V5) which I would hope would work on XP - the NT file is I believe version 3..........

I tried windows 2000 this morning to no avail. What I can`t understand is that XP is simply not listed and indeed there is one down load which is annotated `unsuitable for Windows XP`

The mystery deepens.

Check the printer is off when you start the driver install

Be interested to see if Santer's listing works as I think it is the same driver (V5) as previously listed - also listed as suitable for Windows 2000 - we shall see............

I didn't put the 2000 driver from our initial link as it said the status monitor for 2000 does not work with XP

The OP may come back to say he has replaced the printer

This link does not work. Although it states it is for XP, near the end of the down load a screen appears saying (something like) this is the wrong driver for XP and continued use may de stablise system.


I installed it any way and it does not work. I have been messing about with this printer on and off all day and I suspect it will end its life in the bin very soon.
