I have a website that has been built via Wordpress but I can't seem to find all the HTML code can anyone help me find it ?
I can find the page HTML in Wordpress for each page but it doesn't seems to have all the code that is display when I go on the page and 'view source'. There I can see all the headers titles etc
I have just been on an SEO course and so I wanted to make a few changes to the titles and Metas etc to help with the search but so far not been able to find all the html code.
I notice when you do view source code you can save it but I dont know where to save it or if it needs to be a particular named file. Suggestions on how to find and change the HTML welcome :0)

At a guess, I would suspect that the HTML you're looking for is held in "server side include" files that are stored as separate files and included in the main HTML file by the browser.
Look for HTML that starts something like: <!--#
Of course, I could be completely & utterly wrong.0 -
Using the full wordpress, I log in to the admin part and go to the Apperance section and then editor. Make sure you copy the code and paste it somewhere safe first.0

What mr_fishbulb says is correct, just remember Wordpress doesn't primarily use HTML, its wrote in PHP with all content stored in MySQL databases.0

If you are hosting the wordpress site yourself, you need to go to your server and open up the files from the file manager. This will give you the true code to your site.
I am not hosting the website it is hosted in the USA by daddy. Does this mean I can still get to the true code ?
I just took a look I can see foldera as below
html
[Apache Logs]
cgi
wordpress
wp-admin
wp-content

I looked at this it seemed to be defining things and went though each css file but I couldn't see the code I was looking for."The time is always right to do what is right"0 -
I think you're missing the whole point of Wordpress here. The principle is that you don't need to mess about with HTML to make modifications.
What you're trying to do (SEO) is common, and millions of Wordpress users have done the same. You should look into installing a Wordpress plug-in that will then allow you to make the SEO changes easily - headers / titles / meta tags etc etc.
Here's one example of an SEO plug-in that I use on my own Wordpress websites:

I am just trying to find my feet with all this. From an SEO point of view I am lead to believe that a top thing to do is make titles, headers, metas and imagine titles more meaningful using some keywords to make it easier for the SE. I am trying to do that and can see it in the HTML I just can't find the files to make the changes I want in.
Is this the kindof thing you have been using this plugin for ?
I have just installed 'All in One SEO Pack' and it seems it needs to be configured - any hints as to best configuration ?"The time is always right to do what is right"0 -
OK, so to configure, go to Wordpress Dashboard->Settings->All in one SEO.
Experiment to begin with, by- setting the "Home Keyword", and add your keywords (separated by commas)
- setting "Additional Home Headers", add <meta name="XXXXXXX" content="YYYYYYY" />
Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!0 -
So, have you mastered your SEO now?Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!0
