You will probably pay thru the nose if you are intending to stay in Dublin.. With that many of you going it would work out quite cheap to rent a large cottage/holiday home a bit further afield.. I can recommend Co. Clare, fabulous with loads of places of interest.. So many great spots to choose from in Ireland, but did enjoy staying there (check out the thread on Cork).. You would need transport tho.

when ever and where ever you fly to now you will need a valid passport, I really do not understand why they list other forms of id as when you get to the desk they want a passport.

If you are flying to ireland you must have a valid passport, I flew there last september and found my pet teens had run out so after checking with airline I had to spend day at passport office getting a new one for her. They would not except any other photo id.

We do not have id cards in uk so passports are the photo id required,

My passport expired in 2004, I have travelled to Ireland regulalry since then only using a photo driving license for my id when flying.. I have never had a problem.. They list other forms as I presume thats what they accept for lights between the UK + Ireland?

my nephew aged 9 had no other photo id so had to have passport, and I was told by airline that they want passports only when I called. - I have always been asked for a passport and seen people refused passage without.

  • Does it have to be a full license or will a provisiobal be ok?
    Thanks!
  • What about with another airline or ferry - are they more flexible?
