Reporting someone, how much info is needed?

Surely though, just a suspicion isn't really good enough reason to get the DWP onto someone?
Of course it is! Why do you think it isn't?What if the person is innocent of any wrongdoing and finds out who reported them? It has happened.
If they are "innocent" they get their benefit back. If they find out? So what?
I don't doubt it has happened. I just wish it happened more.

It's basically for my partners friend who basically wants someone to report on his sister.
Why are they asking YOU to do it, instead of doing it themselves?
Be cautious of anyone wanting YOU to do something they could easily do themselves.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
You wish that more people who were innocent got investigated? Or that when people are falsely reported they find out who reported them and seeked out revenge more?Of course it is! Why do you think it isn't?

How do you know it is the sister and not the brother doing these things that he wants someone else to report?
Unfortunately, at the end of the day, unless their mother is incapable of making her own decisions then reporting either party is only likely to cause their mother undue stress and further family problems.

i wouldnt report on behalf of someone else. yoy can do it annon on line. tell them to do it themselves. sounds quite complicated and its better coming 1st hand from the family than from someone even once removed.0

It's got nothing whatsoever to do with you and if you're wise you'll leave it.
Like others have said, get the person who's moaning to report his sister himself. I actually think he's the one up to something, cos I know if my sister was robbing off my mum/the state, I'd be shopping her myself in a heartbeat.
Don't report her on his behalf.0 -

Like the above, I'd be asking why this person wants you to report the sister instead of doing it himself.0 -

No, you read it wrong.
I wish people would report others were they had a suspicion (and not wait around trying to get "proof"), let the DWP do the rest.

Well personally I would need to be very sure of my facts before reporting anyone.
There was a case in the papers a while ago where an elderly couple reported a neighbour they felt was wrongly claiming DLA. The neighbour found out who'd reported him and proceeded to make the elderly couple's life a misery.
There's enough hassle in life without making yourself a target for someone's hostility.0 -
What goes around comes around, if you in anyway wrong then you will get bit on the bum twice as hard over this.0
