Cheaper Central Heating or Calor Gas

Purchased a Calor Gas heater last year and use it before I go to work in the morning, instead of putting the house heating on. ( my radiators take an hour to make a difference)
I also use it instead of putting the full heating on if I am going to be in one room.
Is it cheaper this way, or heating the whole house when I am only in one room ?
Any Ideas ?
