  • Why is nothing ever straightforward?
After (umptytump) years I finally arranged for someone to come on Monday to measure for a vertical blind for the back room window.
So this morning I had a good look to sort out anything I needed to check. It's a full length window with a patio door - faces south so have to draw curtain at times (which is why I have been planning a blind for...)
Door slides forward to pass other half of window to open. So blind will have to be positioned to leave room - now I know why I have been putting off getting a blind.:(
Current plan - remove hardboard pelmet and curtain track - tidy up and paint - before blind fitted.

It will be worth it - It will be worth it - It will be worth it - It will be worth it

    Hey back from birthday party.

Have refilled WM, off upstairs to see if I can find any other bits to chuck in too.
Have made crumble topping and prepared all the bits for my roast later
Am going to run round the whole house with the hoover then park myself in front of the TV with the ironing board....

House clean today - pack tomorrow.... thats my plan :)

    xx

    afternoonall

just eating a scrumped apple and very nice it is too!;)

DS is 18 tomorrow so we're going out en famille tonight - plus a few making 21 people in the restaurant. I bought a helium balloon and was thinking I could pop it down to the restaurant later - then realised as I was in town walking back to the street I'd parked for free on (which is featured in The Damned United, no less! There's a bit where 'Brian Clough' leaves Derby's Baseball Ground to go and buy a certain player) and about to WALK past and it was in my hand I could just drop it in! So I did!

As they are coming back here better give it a quick once over

done LOADS of washing and some ironing. going to do some more when I've had me :coffee: want one?

    There you go :coffee::coffee:

  • Thanks for the :coffee: valli just what I need after my HHC :)

2 loads of washing done and on line, 3rd in WM
Ironing - after DS complained the pile on the chair was stopping him from getting to the computer desk to clean it (eh?!)
    Made veg soup
    Emptied and re-loaded DW
Got stuff out ready to make bread rolls later
Fed DS with water, nurofen & soothers
    Cleaned downstairs loo again
A bit of tidying in the kitchen

Now having a HH sit down with coffee applying for jobs.

  • Minion has vacuumed downstairs.

I have put away my clothes.

The showerroom has been given a quick once over.

I have almost committed to taking in a kitten when it is born (check Gettingready's thread about the pregnant stray her daughter found - on the Pets board - oh, and the Mum will be needing a forever home too, if anyone is feeling soppy). At any rate, Minion knows about it now.

I can fit into my swimming costume!!!! :j: :j: :j: So I might be scraping together some pennies to take me and Minion when I can afford to get her a new costume next week. Would require some de-pelting of my legs, however _pale_.

I need to get some bread, apparently. And she wants burgers, so I will be needed to have a rummage in the freezer in a minute.

Actually, I'm hungry now. So I am going to marinade some chicken in mirin and soy and have chicken yakitori and rice tonight. She can keep her burgers.

    See you all later.

Oh, before I forget, congrats on the job Sammiell:beer:

Gods, what a day! I shall be glad when it's Tuesday, and we head off for our break in Kent!:D

Got a new router from O2, as we've had them take over our landline contract, and have tweaked our broadband package with them, too.

So... to install new router, we need to move my computer desk.... we already knew one of the wheels was brokked; so we head out to Bee and Screw to buy a replacement - they only do packs of 2, but OK, we'll replace the front 2 so that they match.

Get home - move desk - 2 more wheels disintegrate (cue naughty words); and it transpires we have the wrong type of fitting.

Trundle back to Bee and Screw - get refund for 2-pack with wrong fitting; buy 2 x 2-packs with right fitting.

Get home - empty desk, which involves totally dismantling my pc, fit 4 new wheels, do a MAJOR clean behind desk, realise TV cabinet is also filthy behind, so have that out also; evict several generations of dust bunnies, including half a dozen venerable Great-Auntie Dust Bunnies.

Replace TV cabinet (nearly doing Mr LW's back in, in the process), re-assemble pc, and go to move computer desk back into position.

TWO of the new wheels go spunnnggg and fall apart!! (Cue a lot of extremely naughty words, plus the Wolf positively spitting neutrinos).

Dismantle pc again, remove wheels that are clearly not up to the job, and high-tail it back to Bee and Screw. Get refund. Get 4-pack of heavy-duty wheels.

Get home; take time out to configure netbook to new router so that I can at least get online.;) (Mr LW's pc has already been done, there's just my pc to do, plus his work laptop, plus the Sky box, plus the Wii plus the Nintendo DSi):rotfl:

Fit 4 heavy-duty wheels to pc desk. Reassemble pc.

We're at this point right now.... Mr LW is about to move the desk back into position......

    Cross your fingers, people........;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Hi Everyone

I am going to start a HHI at 18.15!
I need to do it before I can remake the beds :o

Hope everyone else is having a more productive day than me. Had my hair done this morning, cut, colour, trim and brazilian blow dry. So I am so pampered I really CBA to do anything much.

Reported Thing 1's phone as lost yesterday ( it had been gone a week) & he comes running out of school yesterday shouting that he's found it . So he now cannot use it til the new Sim arrives.
