Ive just been offered a job:D

    Congratulations!
Well, I have finally given notice to Devil Child!! :j It has only taken me about a year to pluck up the courage :o I am a bit annoyed, as I have been treading on eggshells, & trying to do things properly, so have given 4 weeks written notice (as per contract), and she didn't even look at the letter, and said something about already paying for October, so giving the money back to her! I pointed out that he didn't have to go until half term (giving her plenty of time). I am torn between standing my ground, or just letting him go early & giving her a refund. I am legally in the right, but in all honesty, it costs me more than £4 an hour in stress alone, so maybe I should just let him go!

Since the children have gone home I have cooked dinner, cleaned the TD filter (yuck!), had a shower, cleaned the shower, got the washing in & finished off in the TD, descaled 2 showerheads & fed the dog. Not too bad for me!!

Goodintentions - maybe she didnt understand and thought he had to go asap... perhaps once she has read the letter tonight, she will realise that you have done the right thing and adhered to the notice period... But like you say, if your happy to get rid and shes happy to go, I think a refund would perhaps be money well spent.

:D I will declutter my house and debts :D
  • all ive done today is dishes and now a load of towels coz DS2 peed all over the bathroom floor.

    twice!!
  • Goodintentions I agree with Jo, perhaps it would be better (mainly for you) to just bite the bullet and do a refund as that way Devil Child is out your way sooner rather than later.

I must say though that you've been very professional about it and it sounds like his mum was expecting it though with the way she asked about refunds!
