Hi everyone

I am not at all savvy with language used re internet so I really need an idiots guide to the best payg dongle.
I am going on holiday to Yorkshire for just over a week to see my Dad. He wants me to bring my laptop so that he can use the internet. What dongle is the best value.........for just the weeks useage. I.ve tried to work my way through other similar posts re dongles on this site but I just don't understand all the techie language....lol. What exactly is for example 1gb useage? I just want to know how long I can get on the internet for the money charged. I don't intend to watch films, listen to music - just generally look at ebay facebook etc.
I don't want any contacts - just advice re the best deal/dongle for 1 weeks use. Sorry to be such a numpty :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Huge thanks for any help - much appreciated

    1GB

    Send 1000 Outlook/HTML Emails
Surf the Web for 10 hours
    Download 5 four minute videos

Download 32 four minute music tracks

But first you need to check the coverage for where your going.

"Under each product's 'GO' button is a link to the appropriate provider's coverage checker - click this, enter your Dads postcode, and see what kind of signal you should get in the areas you'll most likely be using your mobile internet dongle (you can check whether you would pick up 3G internet - mobile broadband will be very slow without it)."

  • For mobile broadband:

Go to Site Finder, click on the map and pop the relevant postcode in the box.
A map should appear, hopefully with some blue triangles.

You'll need to click on each of the blue triangles in turn, reading the details.
What you are looking for are UMTS masts under 'type of transmission' within 500 metres of the place of intended usage and the name of the operator.

Once you have ascertained which network is the most suitable, we can search for the best deal within that network.
