Talk us through your illness for say the last two weeks.
It will give us an idea of wether you might be entitled to DLA.
But from what you have posted so far you wouldnt get it.0 -
Why can't you live on his income and tax credits and child benefit.0

He may find that his maintenace reduces when you and your children move in. He needs to declare the change in circumstances to the CSA. He will get the first 20% of income (his wages, plus any tax credits) disregarded, then he will pay the maintenance for his child/ren not living with him. This is 15% for one child, 20% for two children, and 25% for three or more children.0

Why can't you live on his income .....
im not saying I can't I wanted to know eligibility and how it works I most certainly would be at work if I could I have worked since 16 and up until going to uni to do my nursing, despite children. i don't find it that I just want to not work!0 -
The best way to deal with the symptoms, is to go back to work.
Like I did. I'm of the medication now as well. Sitting around only makes the symptoms worse. You need to face your fears. There are no benefits for it. You have to have severe mental health to get DLA or ESA.0 -
OP are you on medication?
I too suffer with general anxiety disorder, depression and panic attacks.....I am on medication, taking this enables me to have some kind of normal life including working, I have stuck with my job though its not greatly paid etc., for 17.5 years...simply because I can not cope with change or meeting people I do not know etc.,
Do you have a supportive GP?
I do not think you can get help through DLA but I do not know about ESA or other benefits, it may be worth trying to work part-time or do some voluntary work to try and ease yourself into getting back to work.....I know it will be difficult but with the right medication/support it is possible.0 -

Agreed - I suffer with Anxiety, Depression and Panic attacks. Most of the time I want to curl up in a ball and avoid the world. But, That's not going to make me better.
Try and get back into work/uni. It's not nice at first but it's about 'reprogramming' your brain into realising that you can cope in these situations. Medication and CBT and resuming your life are whats needed.
To be honest I'm quite surprised that benefits are available for these conditions.0 -
Yes. I've been free of panic attacks for years now -- thank goodness! -- "re-programming" does work. It needn't be official CBT, which wasn't around when I re-programmed, but that should certainly be offered, along with appropriate medication.
And you will feel better if you can get back into some sort of activity.
Just to add, OP, that your fellow sufferers here do know how you feel, and sympathise.0
