DLA isn't means tested but both IS and (means tested) ESA are. You'll need to put in a new joint claim for working tax credits.0

child tax credits, the income is too high for working tax credits.0

Do you get DLA now, the criteria is very strict now and is not paid for nausea, vomitting or diahorrea.
So it is unlikely you would get it, it is for care and mobility really.
21K is a pretty good salary to be honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I know its not a bad income I'm not being greedy just trying to find out where to go with it since this is preventing me working, the nausea etc are side effects of the condition caused by excessive adrenaline which you cannot control. The interacting with strange people strange places and pressure all set this off esp of im not in control, ie I cant just leave. I've Not applied for either im not sure which way to go? Also rent here is approx 550 he pays 300 maintenance also. Hmmmm stuck if dla. And esa is a no go.0

And the condition is a mental health one, with which my weight suffers ie can't eat nausea vomiting so not enough nutrients and I get tired easily as in by 1pm I'm trying not to sleep. I understand some people dont 'get' the condition its. Scary and debilitating I can only explain as to say i feel like im being followed by a man with a knife. My body is in constant fight or flight mode its all I can do to make it through the day without creaking out even at home or with people I know really well.0

if you worked and paid NI in 08/09 and 09/10 you could claim contributions based ESA.
if you havent paid sufficient NI contributions, then your partners earnings would mean that you wouldnt be entitled to income based ESA.
to claim DLA you need to have care/mobility needs.
do you need help with preparing a meal, washing, dressing or using the toilet?
do you need supervision when outside?
if the answer is no, then i'm afraid that DLA is not for you.0 -
When I'm bad I have to call family to come help me and to help with the kids I have collapsed a few times and on coming to I can't even walk properly I'm that shaken and more panicky. I was at uni feom sept 08 until Feb 10 then income support.after one of these episodes for a couple of days after I can't go out alone.0

needing help with the kid is irrelevant.
DLA is only based on the needs of the person who is claiming.
if you have a supportive doctor, and evidence to back up you claim, then you should apply.
you just need to be aware than it can be a long and frustrating process.0 -
Thanks for your help, not just. The kids me also.0
