Likely a stupid/simple question . Have installed the hub .... working ( or you would not be reading this) Last Router was a Linksys and I set up passwords to protect my bandwidth. This new hub/wireless router has a 8 letter password on a sticker . Used that to log on with a laptop ( wireless) . Is there any point messing…

I agree with jayme1.

Your SSID should be something that gives no info about your router or ISP and also doesn't include your address/name.

I wouldn't bother hiding your SSID once you've changed the name.

Don't ever leave default passwords in place, always change it.
