Iphone data roaming in spain

Hi
I am planning on using my iphone in spain for a week next week.

o2 do a "Web Daily Europe" which is £1.50 per day for up to 15MB per day which i am going for.

Is there anything on my iphone i need to switch off as to limit the data usage?

It's either you do not use it at all, and switch off data roaming, or you have to watch it closely. Way too many horror stories about roaming data usage. Unless may be O2 can send you a txt when you reach your limit.
  • You should be able to find an app to monitor your data usage. I have one on my Android phone and can set alarms for when i'm approaching a limit.
  • My understanding is that if you have enabled data roaming and are holidaying within the EU then providers are bound by some EU ruling and your bill will be capped at £40.00 max for data. However, if you opt for a prepaid plan but exceed the agreed usage for the plan then the cap no longer applies and anything over your 15MB per day could attract much higher charges. At least I think that's how it works.

How much data do you use at present?
When you are away the handset won't be using anymore than it would at home, 15mb/day sounds reasonable and better than reading the many many sob stories we often see on here.

Hi o2 say "If you repeatedly use more than this then we will contact you about your usage and may insist that you move to a daily maximum charge of £5 or remove you from the service."

Hi thanks jbainbridge I have just downloaded an app to monitor my usage.
