Sending multiple copies of same text

I know little about "texting" so would appreciate some information on the following question:-

I need to set up a "prayer chain" for my local church whereby a message could quickly be sent to members if an emergency arises. We are looking to send 50 identical messages at a time. We have been using emails but this is unsatisfactory as some people do not pick up their emails for days.

I only have a fairly basic Nokia phone operating on O2 with no free texts but seem to recall that some websites will let you send (free?) text messages. Would any of these have the equivalent of the email Address Book where you can set up groups?

I started this enquiry on the Techie forum but was advised to try this one instead. Any suggestions for achieving the rapid dispatch of these messages at minimal cost would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You can send a text to multiple people from a Nokia, just have a look in your manual

There are a few SMS websites, where you can buy credit to use to send via their website, incl bulk ones to a "mailing list" like what you're after. I've not used one myself for a few years.... but google search might get you some ideas, for example I found:

I'd stick the company name of any you find in the MSE search to see if it gets any past threads (not done so for the above, it's just an example to start you off, NOT a personal recommendation!)
