Humax Foxsat HD specifically is better hardware than SkyHD+ boxes. Also I think OP is talking about an SD sky box, so we're talking about a picture transmitted to the TV via HDMI insted of SCART at a guess, plus some of the content will actually BE HD.

    It's a SKy+ HD play/record box black&silver >>>> I didn't know sky did an SD pause/play/record box

The TV picture on the TV built in tuner which is also HD (I think it's freeview because the picture does not go away when the satdish is moved, but I'm sure it says freesat on the little epg logo - I'll have to check) is better than the skybox and the picture on the Nano sat box is better than the skybox.

To those saying it won't be possible look at my earlier link to a program called +extract which will extract the videos on the sky drive. I will then be able to put them onto anything else such as the USB harddrive for the TV for example.

Not if they are encoded, that software will only work on fta channels.

They're the old white Sky+ boxes.
  • Wig, I have come off the phone to Sky this morning and there has been a HUGE c0ck up because of the package reshuffle and this is why you cannot view the programmes. I have posted more details here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3517141 You might as well delete them as they are gone forever.

I have posted it on grabbit because this is where I got the original details from, I will no doubt feel the wrath sooner or later!!

Just who can you complain to about this - any advice? I was more p!ssed at losing House but have found it is being shown on Universal (Never heard of it!!) so am taping it again tonight.

All 'Free to Air' programmes will not be affected, just those taped that were in 'mixes'.

Most if not all of my recordings are on BBC 1, 2, itv1 sd, & Ch4, some maybe from ITV2 ITV2+1 ITV4 etc (all SD never HD)

I would think it is because the subscription has ended, Sky's own webpage says that you need a subscription to get the play/rec feature. And on my box I can't play any of them, they are all FTA and won't play.

I disagree about deleting them, they will be accessed when I plug the hard drive into my computer.

Universal used to be called 'The Hallmark Channel' but was rebranded about a year ago.
