Moving house, no Virgin Cable

Hi ,
I currently live in a Virgin Cable area and subscribe to the 50mb service which is brilliant. We are moving house shortly to an area which was built as a new estate in 2004 and does not have cable. However the entire surrounding area postcodes (and even the next street along) is cabled.
The ADSL speed I would expect is miserly (2-3Mbit) as the distance from the exchange is 2.65km ATCF so it will be like going backwards 10 years. Is is in any way feasible that VM would/could wire me up given the new house is so close to a cabled area?
Thanks
M

Most unlikely, is BT rolling out FTTC in your area?
BTW With a 2.5Km line you could reasonably expect 14Mbps, of course the cables rarely run as the crow flies. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Nothing for FTTC, ADSL Max is the best I can get. The Virgin Media cable street is less than a couple of hundred metres away!0
