and then there is a promotion right now wherein u get 12 points/every pound spend....also there's a code for 1000 bonus points when total > 75.

so in effect 300(-36-10 in boots points)-18 quidco = 236 approx.
try adding to basket and see how it works...
wowie. awesome deal. works even better for the core system(works to about 156 for core system)

    Xbox Premium console c/w 2 games = £299.99

    Minus

    12 advantage points for every £1 spend promo = £ 35.99
    1000 points for over £45 spend promo code = £ 10.00

    use quidco cash back 6.5% off = £ 19.50

    total £234.42

You don't actually receive cashback from advantage points .You can only spend value of points instore.

Very good price that just a pity you can't use the advantage points against that order itself!

Looking an Xbox 360 myself and have been shopping around, the deals are not as good as they were a few weeks back :(

    Hi

I know it's changing the subject slightly, but as people who have 360's are on here -

I'm after an X-Box 360 for my 15 year old. I have seen a deal in Tesco for £294.

CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WILL THE OLDER X-BOX GAMES RUN ON THE NEW 360 CONSOLE?

Also, as I have a fully working older x-box console - are there any 'deals' out there for trade-ins?

    Thanks for all replies.

Don't get the Tesco one (unless you can r+r it!) you will get a better deal almost anywhere else.

Some xbox games will work, some won't, see the list here:

    http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm

Trade-in wise, I wouldn't bother - old consoles are virtually worthless. You could get a brand new xbox for £50 from Argos before Chrimbo, so I can't see you getting owt for a second hand trade.

Agee old console is all but worthless as are the games, for the money you would get keep it. I'm keeping an eye on various deals they do change all the time.
  • Seriously considering buying this from Boots - does anyone know if the Boots stores sell anything Xbox related(games etc) that I could use the points on?
  • Went for Boots in the end.

    Entertainment Package: £299

3x Points on Website (Expires 23/01/2007)

Extra 1000 Points (see here): http://www.hotukdeals.com/deal/15344/500-points-and-1000-points-at-boots

    Quid Co @ 6.5% = £19.50
    Paid with Amex Platium @ 0.5% = 1.50

All in all, 4599 Boots points (£46.00), Cash Savings £21.00

Thanks to everyone for the advice..
  • tempted! but whens the new XBOX 360 out (codename Zephyr) - HDMI + 120GB HD, if its in a month or so might be tempted to wait!
  • thanks for your suggestions already,

took advice and went to virgin and got a student friend to buy it - so 10% discount on hardware!

bought the Premium XBOX360 with COD3 Bundled and
came with in offer, Gears of War, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, PGR3 + arcade games, plus extra wireless controller. It cost about £344? but at the till it came to a cool £302 (I know it doesnt make sense for 10% ).

Good luck to others out there.
