Just do, start > run > C:\ and then manually navigate to it and see how far down the folder structure you can get
I've now got the a/d bar on Windows Explorer but when I run what you suggested it tries to open it in Chrome! What is going on?

not sure why it's trying to open it in Chrome (but i need a wee and always lose the ability to think when i need a wee)... but if Program Data only has an Adobe file; click on tools > folder options > view > and stick a tick in the 'show hidden files' box, as other folders may be hidden.
Although rather than doing it in explorer, try straight from start > run0 -
XP doesn't have a Program Data folder, only Vista onwards. XPs is application data, located at:
"C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data"
Where [username] is your username, or choose "All Users".
You might need to "unhide" folders to see this. This is done by clicking "Tools>FolderOptions>View and ticking Show hidden folders"
Windows does not regonise "white space" as in, the spacebar, in a filepath, it assumes that is where the command terminates unless you put it in " and ".0 -

As for 'run', I didn't understand if Rob Tang meant put the whole lot in inverted commas....

yeah you mentioned it further up the post, i forgot about that till i scrolled up. I think it's simply a case of duff instructions that you've been given as the 'windows' folder doesn't exist. You could try creating it to see what happens.0

Seriously, I'll repeat, and, as bold seems to be the option of choice for some posters who wish to get their point across, here goes:
There is NO ProgramData folder in XP. You are wasting your time.0 -

But I don't know what I'm looking for here (RSMR is empty BTW)
