Hi just looking for advice really dont know where to start so dany advice appreciated.

The start of the problems was when i upgraded my contract with orange early on the 11th july the deal i was promised was the motorola atrix on a dolphin 35 and was offered:
700min
500tx
unlimited landline
500mb data
free work and play kit
and the free motorola atrix

with £5 off making it £30pm brilliant i thought as i also have a loyalty discout which took it to under £25pm.

on my 1st full monthly bill i received a £195 bill:eek:
i called to find out why only to find that the sales person did not add unlimited landline to my account so i was charged for all landline calls.

I also asked about my work and play kit which i had still not recieved (nearly 6 weeks later) and was told that the offer had finished and i would not be receiving one so asked to speak to a manager, the manager could do nothing and had to email the original advisor to call me. I had no call back so chased again and was told i could be given a £10 credit for the inconvience and once again told someone will call me.

Yet again no phone call this went on for two weeks and was asked to pay £30 for the work and play kit which i agreed to as that was the whole reason i wanted the phone! finally got a call back from my orignal advisor confirming it was his mistake and he would put me onto a new tariff Racoon 30 with 300mins, 300tx, unlimited landline calls, 500mb data and refund the £140 which should of been included in unlimited landline usage and the work and play kit to be sent out (after paying £30), received the kit:T and was told refund would show on my account within 24hours as i cancelled my direct debit so they could not take the amount from me.

only to find a week later i could not call out on my mobile rung straight away and was told there was an unpaid bill, to which i explained the previous actions and he lifted it for 24hours and i was told me to call back again:mad: in the morning to resolve as the credit does not go into my account till the next bill which was one week away. Done as i was told and rung in the morning for the advisore to simply 'flag' my account to show payment from orange itself was going into my account, i thought that was the end of it untill i received my bill today.

I have no data allowance, called straight away to be told racoon does not come wth data so lied to again by the same advisor who lied to me about the 1st one. i am now waiting for a callback from a manager but really just want my contract ended with no cost from myself i will send the phone back and accessories if needed just really want nothing to do with orange anymore, The question is do i have any grounds on which to cancel i.e them not fulfilling what was promised??

I have no idea so any advice is welcome good or bad lol:)

Thanks and sorry for the mega long post :)

Unless you are recording all your important calls (including the very first one when you discussed the upgrade) you are wasting your time. Complain in writing: http://www1.orange.co.uk/codesofpractice/

Or search the board for the e-mail address of the executive office.

I am surprised that you agreed to pay £30 for something that was supposed to be free.
  • Thought that might of been the case, they told me originally i had to pay £50 for the kit got it to £30 so just took it as there was no point in having the phone that i wanted when i could only use half of it, and was told point blank i would not be receiving it free and that was by a manager!!
and to buy even on ebay cheapest is £50.
