Good morning all ,Right here go's ,I bought this house about 4 years ago knowing it would need updateing but unfortunately within 8 months of moving in all of a sudden being a self employed courier and sub contracting to some of the big names in the industry they had to stop useing subby's to keep their own drivers in work ,this all happening in Nov 08 when nobody had any work was very differcult for everyone I was scratching for work and earning a fraction of what I did before so haveing to use savings to keep the house payments and bills up to date , in the last 3 years It's been a struggle as I was left with virtualy nothing I am no longer self emploied and I'm now working for someone ,am on a payment plan with credit card company and have an arrangement with mortgage company and Tax office for unpaid s/a return so have a poor credit score but need to replace the boiler and if possible the windows but obviously can't afford to pay out right !! what would be the best way to do this ie. are there any companies who are doing good deals to get this done on a payment plan ? I'm sorry if I 've gone one a bit but thought I should try to give an idea of what my situation was .many thanks

The big window companies charge well over the odds, so find a local independant, eg £400 per window to fit where as the local independant are about half that price , windows are not difficult to replace but you should be FENSA registered n all that. As with boilers a high capacity condenser can be had for £700 ish, but that would not include fitting, it goes without saying don't mess about with gas, but again larger companies will be charging £2k-£2.5K.0

Thanks for your reply ,but what I'm looking for is any recommended companies who could install heating system/ windows on a payment plan as I would not be able to 1. fit any of it myself and 2. pay that sort of money out right .0

Check out your local free paper, as said the large outfits may offer you credit, but they are expensive and from the figures shown then plus the credit interest, you will be paying much more than this, to reglaze your whole house and a new boiler , you will probably be talking £10K plus the interest on the credit

Get lucky with Warmfront type grants.
You need to qualify for low income Credit/Benefit first.0 -
