Reported a leak? - how long to attend?

Options
We have a strange location for our water meter - this and 2 other houses were originally 3 show houses so the stop tap and water meter were put alongside a public footpath over a hedge away from our boundary, technically the access to the meter and tap is about 2 metres from our boundary - on friday afternoon I noticed a eakage of water across the main rd coming from around where the 3 access points are which are buried in some very "lush" green grass which is very spongy due to a water leak, i checked with the other 2 houses and the lady on the end said ahh i have noticed a reduction in pressure on toilets last few days - so one assumes its her meter leaking, i reported it to Sev Trent at 7pm on friday night - was given a ref nr - he said they would be out later that day, so far nothing?? How long before I ring again - and just wondered who pays????

If it's leaking at the meter they will repair it free of charge with no quibbles. They are normally pretty quick to come out to a newly reported leak, within 2 days.

Been out this morning and come back and there is a huge Blue Arrow on road pointing to leak so someone must have come out and "had a look"

  • For the record as this is sorted out :

OPs attend major leaks within 24 hours and minor or private within 7 days.

9 times out of 10 they will be with minor leaks within 2 days but it can take longer and some private leaks can be 2 weeks.
