Just to say good afternoon to everyone :) on this shiny new thread courtesy of Browntoa.

But would like to say welcome back to MT and a big thank you to CW for all her work and patience over the last week. :T :T :T

Can I ask anyone who has used the Colgate coupon if it went through the till ok?

I used one and the till lady had real problems getting it recognised, eventually a super had to input it manually.

    Was it just my coupon?

Took about 8 mins to get sorted and not sure I wanna have a big queue of people glaring at me again.

One lady was even heard to mutter "This is what happens when you send men out shopping" :o:(:o

I went to asda yesterday and mine wouldn't scan either, got propper trouted, after what seemed like ages, she over rode them and put them in manually.

I've just printed the original colgate coupon and the barcode looks small so i copied the coupon over onto picture manager and printed it out slightly bigger than the original 10x15 -also means you can avoid all that writing at the top! It's made the barcode clearer, hopefully it will scan, will update when i've been to A's :)
  • Thanks Browntoa for a shiney new thread. Having read your excellent post I have posted on the forum rules discussion section as a lot more of what went wrong here is happening over on the grabbit forum. I didn't want to start a discussion here as we need to keep this on track.
Thanks also to MT and to CW.
I've even remembered to thank all the first posts again:)

  • OK next noob question..... my shreddies voucher came out twice the size as one i did last week, does it matter or will just be easier to scan at a SS.

Me too, I used the ss which probably wasn't a good move because when she came she really scrutinised them, but eventually put them in manually.

Thanks from a newbie to CW for doing a great job, also nice to see MT back who does a fab job especially with the shopping list, I really missed it last week.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    http://www.burgesspetcare.co.uk/excelfeedingplan/pdfs/voucher-1.pdf

Ok today I had a problem with the £2 burgess rabbit voucher for excel products at my local garden centre.

I had printed off several and had read the terms to the best of my knowledge. I used 1 £2 coupon per item purchased and I bought several items, the problem I had was a) they had never heard of them and had no idea what to do with them at the till. b) some of the products were either £1.99 or £1.49 and they said I couldnt have the balance off the rest of my shopping. They didnt scan the vouchers but entered each 1 manually on the till. I had 3 assistants involved. They wanted to change the voucher amount through the tills system so I got for example £1.49 off against a £2 voucher if thats what my product cost. As they said the balance couldnt come offf my other stuff . I said well you are going to get £2 back from manufacturer then and make 51p profit ? To top it all at the end they asked if they could keep 1 of the vouchers so I had to explain they needed to keep them all to send off!

How do you read the terms and what do you think should have been the correct way to handle the vouchers?

I have emailed Burgess to ask
