Door Knockers

When the RSPCA called to ours a while ago they gave my sons a magnet pack then went through their spiel. They wanted a bank statement to prove I lived in the house, I told them no and she asked if I was sure I lived here!
Why in hell would I show a complete stranger my bank details to prove I live in the house I answered the door in, in order to sign up to a direct debit rather than just giving in the boxes like I normally do?? After I said no (more politely than that little rant) she asked my kids for the magnets back!
Would the 'No Cold Callers' sign work for the charity bags that I keep getting do you think? I now get one every week or two which I've been putting straight back out onto my doorstep as I give any bits I have to a local charity. They have to lean over the pile of 30 or so (which are never collected) to post more! I have 5 NSPCC ones alone. Ho hum:)Te audire no possum. Musa sapientum fixa est in aure.0

 No.....
But then mine doesn't seem to stop cold callers either.... EXCEPT Jehovah's witnesses
do they pick the bags up again? they don't seem to around here, so I no longer put them back on the doorstep.0

I have the same problem, only round my way, the RSPCA peeps must have a rule about not going to anyones house before 9pm! in the past 6 months, i've had 3 knocks at the door between 9-9.35pm!!!
I know they have a job to do, but unless you were a pizza delivery person, how bad would you feel knocking on someone's door at 9.30pm!!0

Me too the only thing that they take notice off sadly is shut the door
I tried the polite way far too many times
Last one came to house he uttered 2-3 words and I said no thanks and shut doorNo.....

Is it just me or do they seem to now be doing a door version of the phone call thing where they dial loads of numbers and speak to the one that picks up first?
This has happened to me twice this week, I have a new born and am a bit slow, but not ridiculously slow, to answer the door but it seems that they knock on my neighbours door too and when I open the door they ask me to hold on a second.
Hold on a second? you bloody knocked at my door grrrr
RSPCA and EDF you suck (this week) :-D
Did you close the door and wait for them to ring again, then you could simply answer the door and ask them to hold on a second whilst you close the door and go back to whatever you were doing?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0

Don't bother keeping them, recycle them by using them as bin liners0
