Hi DS1 has saved his money and wants to buy a Blackberry Bold 9700. He has found one at CEX for £205  and they have agreed to reserve it for him while I get my head around the cost. It needs to be on 'pay as you go' because I don't want to commit to the monthly payments.
Firstly is this the going rate for a Blackberry Bold 9700 (It's boxed has all attatchments and has 1 yrs guarantee.)
What about insurance incase it is lost or damaged?
Which payg provider would you recommend?
He wants Blackberry messaging will this have that too?

Just looked on Ebay and they are selling for £249+ I have a Torch 9800 and I haven't any insurance. I can get insurance through my bank. There are cheaper insurances, someone else may be able to help.
I'm with O2 so I can't comment on other networks. It depends on coverage and what you want to pay a month.
Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) normally costs about £5pm and is taken out of your monthly PAYG payment. With that you get Push Email, Blackberry Messenger and web browsing. 500mb is plenty for data because Blackberry compress their data.0 -
I have a bb curve 8520, I don't know about insurance either.
I'm with orange on payg.
£10 per month top up gets me
400 texts
Blackberry Internet Service (50mb not 500mb)
100 mins.
I believe T Mobile have some kind of deal with BIS but I'm quite happy with what I get from Orange to be honest.
50mb does not sound much but in 18 months I've not aware that I've blown that cap.0
