Went to Boots today armed with two colgate coupons and acm voucher. acm voucher would not scan, they said it has to be used on the date that you PRINT it not the expiry date written on the coupon??? Anyone else had this?

yes, if you turn over the coupon, from the ACM, you will see on the reverse the terms and conditions that state it must be used on the day printed. However..... most of us get away with using vouchers printed 2 weeks ago that are still valid for a couple more days ;)

I have had an SA at Boots tell me a coupon wasn't valid as I had printed it 2 weeks ago, she turned it over and showed me the T&C, and then screwed it up and threw it in the bin.

Never mind, I had more.... ;)
  • Well that is Boot's contradictory T&C at work then. Surely they can 'fix' the ACM so it prints 'must be used by end of [insert today's date]' if that is their T&C? xx

you would think so! But believe me Boots have their own agenda and it works for them ;) there was a glitch years ago on hair product sachets, we were getting acm vouchers that made them free in boots logic. We paid cash but you got 100 points back on your card for them. Boots knew about it but their mark up on the product is so high, they didn't care about this particular glitch and let it go on until the vouchers expired.
  • Hi just want to thank all you guys on this tread and the coupon thread, went shoppng today and used 3 vouchers (not many compared to you lot :p) and saved my self some money

May start doing this more often :j
  • ps Ive decided to stop lurking and actually post so hopefully will have great coupons to add soon :money:

Thanks aesop and d that's made me feel better. The second SA did say what you said Aesop but when I wrote to Boots I said that the t&c state must be used on date stated overleaf but there are actually two dates, the expiry and the date printed, so they really need to change their wording. My other pet hate today is having to ring 0845 customer care lines if you want to complain: impossibly expensive from a mobile, but am always so determined to say my piece that it's time for good old fashioned pen and paper: I am still convinced that people respond better to a nicely worded and laid out complaint letter!? Here's hoping. Thanks again for all the invaluable advice.

Thanks Levis that's you and me in the same boat then!

Anyway I have written off to Boots CS requesting a whole 98p back (10% acm voucher, 10% off that boots offers to students on a wednesday - the trout refused to give it to me even though I have a uni card, and the price of postage!) it's the principle.

I always hold a whole queue up but quite frankly a lot of these people have never been poor I think, and never questioned the ridiculous price rises of things that cost peanuts to make. Toothpaste is and should never be £1.99 in the first place! Rant over. :rotfl: hope you've all had good couponing days x

I had the opposite in Boots today!
I've never used boots for coupons but I went today with some and also to return weighing scales that I bought 04.02.11 and even though I was over the one year warranty they exchanged them for a better set, took my coupons and I was surprised how many other bargains I got - I got my Sure roll on for 0.76p, Palmolive Shower Gel for approx the same and Radox bath for £1.00 - Also picked up the Newest Gillette Power razor for £5.00 with 4 blades - 4 blades on the old one are normally £10+!

Just had an e mail from Kenco with a Happy Birthday wish and a MOC for a free 49g bar of Cadbury's Choc. Worth registering on their site if you haven't already and you may get a MOC on your birthday. :j Just a pity it isn't a large bar!
