ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR some silly supervisor in tesco today said i had been using to many coupons the last few days (which i have used a mixed of clubcard magazine and printed ones) and said it was unfair to other customers that i was............... this was backed up by a manager
the vouchers i had today were a til rec £6 off £40, free coffee late printed, a 50p printed off soreen x2 the coors light free 4 pack. and some personal clubcard ones. about £12 all together.
so i left £123 worth of shopping all in bags at the til and emailed customer services, who emailed me with the coupon rules (which are on here) and said they would be sending me a gift card in the post!!!
so I have been back to my local tesco and spoken with the store manager and showed him the email, and has told me to ask for him if i have any problems in the future.

    rant over

Well done you - my husband was well impressed when I showed him your comments:T

Moving on to actually trying to use the coupons that did print ok, the first one I tried to use in Asda wouldn't scan and the assistant tried to put the coupon through but was told the barcode was invalid so they would not accept it.

I'm pretty sure at least one of them has expired now, you weren't trying to use that one were you?

I went back into my local Asda today to try a voucher from the second set I printed off (which scanned ok), only to be told they are not accepting these coupons, something about there being problems with them and Asda not being paid, hmmmm.

Sometimes they make stuff up because they don't know the real answer. They think any answer is better than no answer, so just make one up when they don't know.

So i've now printed off pages of coupons which look to be useless, what a shambles!

No, try again. Make sure you are using the correct coupon, different ones are valid for different months, and that you have the correct product. If they are refused take the supervisors name and tell them you will check with customer services (not the one in the shop). Then demand to see the manager.

None of my coupons have expired yet, the first 2 from a set expire on 31.07.13, I assume everyone's coupons will have the same dates.

The assistant said she didn't think they were accepting them but went away any and rang someone (Manager she said) to check and was told no to accepting them.

I've been all organised and put them in date order, so I definately used the correct dated coupon and the one I was trying to use was £1.00 off any variety.

I've already decided that I will contact Asda to find out what's going on, will try to get on that this weekend.

    Thanks for your help anyway.

Thanks but I can only buy frozen stuff from supermarkets within walking distance as I have no car.

The only other shop possible for me is Co-Op but unless they have a good offer they are more expensive in there. Oh well unless my local Asda change to accepting them then it's Co-Op or nothing.

The whole saga has been frustrating and quite embarrassing in the shop.

Nope, the ones I got had one that expired on the last day of May, it was £1`off. The second one was from 1/6/13 to 31/7/13 and is only for certain varieties. The third is from 1/8/13 to 31/8/13 and is for a half price pizza.

Oh how many times a day do I do that? There's nothing like pretending to check an answer to make the customer happy.

You have different ones to me then, because the only ones I have for £1 off any variety don't start until 01/09/13.

I still say you should ask to see the manager and will check with CS. It's amazing how often they realise they have made a mistake when they hear you will check with someone else.

I really don't believe the answer you got, if asda had not been paid for the coupons and stopped accepting them, their would be a lot of people in here talking about it.

Just come back from my local Tescos in Poole Dorset. They went through each coupon with a fine tooth comb. Checked them against the till receipt to make sure I'd brought the product. It took ages and people behind me in the queue were huffing and puffing and I was going redder by the minute. The supervisor took away my pizza vouchers to show to her boss, when she came back she said I could only use one as I had photocopied them. I said that would be a bit difficult as they had different names on, one was mine and one was in my husband's name. So she let them through. If I have to go through this performance every time I shop there I don't think I'll bother. Why are the supermarkets getting so het up about these pizza vouchers? Do you think they are having trouble redeeming them?

I think it's vouchers in general, people have the same thing with other ones. I think the problem is they have been "burned" with forged/copied vouchers and they are just making sure now.

People keep mentioning supermarket policies, but I don't think anyone has mentioned the one that really counts........ "If you accept it, you are responsible".

Vouchers are money to the supermarkets, so accepting a forged/invalid one is no different to accepting a forged banknote/coin. Or selling drink/fags/knives etc. to someone under age, the person at the till is personally responsible for it. I am sure they have all had this made clear to them, which is why so many of them insist someone higher makes the decision to accept or not.

I doubt it, if they were they would stop accepting them. I think it's more to do with the fact that there are so many of them, and people are using several at a time.

I have had trouble today with ASDA and the Pizza voucher. Seems they have been burned with these and other printed vouchers and don't won't to accept them.

And also Sainsbury's that haven't been a problem with the Coupon Safe vouchers in the past are now questioning whether they will take them, and have to call over a supervisor who isn't sure either and doesn't want to accept them.
