  • For some reason Waitrose are squaring up to Asda in terms of their £1 range of branded frozen items, so I got 2x aunt bessies yorkshire boat shaped puddings for 50p each and 2x home chips for 50p each :j then I got 8 of the dairy collective yoghurts for 50p each they are normally £1 but there were coupons in last weekend's free waitrose weekend newspaper (which sadly this week was not delivered to my local store :() and naturally I got many copies of the newspaper. Also there were 2 of the huge cartons of tropicana for £6 on offer, last week there were £1 tropicana coupons in the weekender as well so it was 2 for £4, got a green's carmelle for 10p and 5 boxes of bonne maman galettes originally £1.19, reduced to 89p and only 39p a box with the 50p coupon. In Sainsbobs I got 2x andrex washlets for 50p each, ariel 24 wash for a mere £2.50 with a till spit I got a few weeks ago and was just before the expiry and two dettol handwash but I foolishly forgot that I wouldn't be getting the special offer on those as I had to put them through in two transactions due to the till software in local S, grr but still got 50p off each so not bad. Got quite a few other bits and pieces too. All in all £57 worth of stuff down to only £30.99 :j
  • Have just had a massive shop at Mr T's - we stocked the freezer well, found loads of bargains, and used up a lot of my near expiry coupons, managed to save £13 on the offers (not including reduced stuff) and then a further £11 after all coupons (16 in all lol). £24 is £24 at the end of the day!

any saving is fantastic but £24 is not bad at all, thats £24 you can be spending on other stuff :D. My biggest saving so far (offers and coupons) was £172 on a tesco shop , it was a bit of a military operation though, OH and I did one trolley full each and we did it in two trips into the shop and 4 transactions. I only do gargantuan shops like that every 6 months or so to stock up on items like toilet rolls, nappies and laundry detergent and softener. It was mainly a non-food shop so that explains the huge saving because non-food items tend to be reduced more when on offer and have coupons with a higher face value xx

SSM is brilliant for that sort of stuff. We've had to start a small crate(!) in the garage of laundry/cleaning stuff + toiletries that are still sealed in their packages.
I'm intending to get Mum to go through her wardrobe as she has a lot of stuff in there too that she tends to squirrel away lol.
  • We have a tardis-esque airing cupboard in our hallway as we live in a flat, its useless as an airing cupboard as our hot water tanks are in another cupboard and the electric tube heater in there doesn't really do anything. It can store a pretty impressive amount of items though, I have at least 60
laundry products in there, gel, powder and liquids and numerous bottles of fabric conditioner, several 9 packs of loo roll, about 25 bottles of washing up liquid, 5-6 bottles of all purpose cleaner (am getting some more from tesco when I go), 12 or so bottles of shampoo and conditioner, 10 tubes of toothpaste, and various shower gels and hand soaps my poor towels though are now limited to a teeny corner of one shelf. The good thing is that I very rarely have to buy any of this stuff in a normal weekly shop, its also really good because over the past year the big companies like P&G have really jacked up their prices even when things are on offer some of them are a lot more than this time last year, and in some cases they have made the packaging considerably smaller so you're not even getting the same amount for your money. Quite a lot of the items I got before the most drastic price hikes so say a bottle of persil that cost me only £4 would now be about £8 even on offer. xx

Tesco's policy nationwide is to accept 1 coupon for 1 product regardless of quantity. However, some store manager's have been making up their own rules regarding coupons. Hence head office visited my local store & had a showdown with them for going against national policy. I have a copy of a letter sent to me that I take shopping everytime now. The letter states if i have 100 coupons the same the store has to take them if I've purchased 100 items for those coupons. The most we ever actually use that are the same in one transaction is 4 though. And since head office visited my local store I haven't had any issues with my coupons.

thanks for this ive got about 20 cupons for various items that intend to use on money (buying each item for the respective cupon some are doubles but when im getting johnsons baby was for 59p i am going to use them lol) i was worried about going through the till and handing all the cupons over but if ive brought one product for each cupon surely im not breaking any rules x

Yep, when I used it the cashier had to look at the printout of the receipt to check what the price was haha.

No you're not breaking any rules at all :) But one thing I would advise is if you have more than about 15 seperate coupons (multiple ones of the same are ok); break it up into seperate transactions, it just makes it easier and I've found in tesco in particular if you hand over too many coupons and some don't scan its hard to keep track of this if you hand over too many and you may only realise once they've finished and hand back the coupons that didn't scan and thats if they realise they didn't, sometimes the SAs seem to be working on autopilot xx
