Paying Car Insurance but was not covered

Not always, Depends on the paperwork when it was registered.
Sometimes they get things wrong, Ive had cars with different model specs on the system to the log book.
Different engine sizes and power outputs.
Even had one that said a " land rover type vehicle." How vague is that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If the OP just chose Vauxhall Astra on the system and not Astra Van then they probably wouldnt have known.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Hi Guys,
I have received the SAR from BiSL. However, they did not send me a copy of the insurance certificate.
However I have scanned the first few pages of my policy document:

Surely you have a copy of your insurance certificate?
Anyway, the details they have sent you refer to a Vauxhall Astra, not an AstraVan ... and the second page does indeed inform you to contact them immediately should any details be incorrect"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Says vauxhall astra, Policy says car No mention of the word VAN anywhere.
I doubt you will get your money back. If you had an accident the reg would have matched, So they would
have little choice to payout.
Someone internally would get a big slapped bottom and they may even have chased you for the costs.
But no claim was made so its time to move on. You failed to disclose important information.
Its like me insuring a 1L hatchback instead of the sports car the plate really lives on. It may go
unnoticed but always a risk it will get found out.
I guess they could say you owe them more money. Insuring a van must include a policy charge of £1000.
Or you were not insured at all. And have been driving illegally.
Go directly to jail do not stop to collect your refunded premium.
