I fear i have just had my first incidence of being scammed to the tune of £178.69!!! In hope's of a BARGAIN washer dryer (my washer just died on the 24/09).
As with most people these days money's ridiculously tight as my partner was made redundant 18 month's ago, so went searching for a 'cheap washer' on Google.
Through Google shopping found a Hotpoint washer dryer for £167 + P+P at buyitplayit.eu (It's on Google it must be trust worthy, right??)
The website seemed very professional T's & C's, returns policy, mailing addresses etc..
I had not come across the payment method of using Ukash before but as it was using Pay Point which seems to be in every shop i go in, in Sheffield so trusted that it was safe. Once paid at my local Co-op I returned home to my laptop and punched in the 19 digit voucher code on my Ukash receipt "EASY".
I had confirmation emails that my order was being processed and another telling my delivery date (with USP) would be on 05/10/11.
I had completely bought into the whole situation until the early hours of this morning while at work on night's (nurse), I used my phone while on break to check my emails and found this.

So when i got home from work this morning i reported it to action fraud and Ukash but I fear my hard earned cash is long gone.

I'm trying to get my money back, not very confident.0 -
Sounds like they had a night of sending out those e-mails....... All in the hope of id theft no doubt......These low down scum really do make me mad but there is nothing you can do but report it and hope someone else doesnt get caught out.
Oh well as you say live and learn
I'm off to drown me sorrows.....:beer:0 -

Just re updating it into this thread again so no one falls for this scam either!!
google shopping needs to sort itself out with all these, if in doubt, check the contact details on the 'cheap' website and google them, and look for reviews, this is how i found out about dontilo.com

Wish I'd read these reviews before parting with my £62.00. What a fool! I paid by evoucher this incredible price for a 19' tv/dvd.
I also received the email yesterday, asking for all the proof of I.D. Already sceptical, this confirmed that i had been well and trully scammed.
I have emailed stating that I wish to cancel my order and receive a refund, which I know will never happen.
I'll be far more wary in future and will never pay anything by evoucher. I'll also report it to my local shop where I purchased the evoucher in the hope that it may save someone else in future.

I made the mistake of going through the process of paying by ukash voucher for an item on buyitplayit.eu. After refusing to send the identification they wanted I asked to cancel the order and recieve a refund to which I got a message saying in order to recieve a refund I needed to send the information I originally refused to send.
The whole thing is an apsolute joke and now I have lost £100 as I very much doubt they will respond to my email ever after I threatened to take my complaint further.
Has anyone contacted DHL or UPS about this as they probably wont be impressed a bogus company is using thier name for non existant deliveries??

.if only i had seen all these comments first.i did think that the prices were to good to be true.and obviously they were!hindsight is a wounderful thing....
i ordered a quadrio fridge freezer,a tv/dvd combi and 2 sat navs at the incredible price of £448.i went on the ukash website and at that time there was nothing on there warning me not to buy through the website.i thought i had checked to see if this was a scam but could not find anything to make me suspicous.so i went to my local co-op with the voucher and as i could pay by credit card i thought at least if it is dodgy id be covered.then when i got the e-mail asking for my personal details, obviously alarm bell rang.i phoned fedex to ask if they had a delivery for my address and not surprisingly they didnt.since then i have sent numerous e-mail to buyitplayit and they have responded each time stating that unless i sent the information they require they cannot release my shipment.i have asked for a refund to which they state i have to wait 60 days.yeah like thats going to happen.since reading all these posts i will now contact ukash, report to the fraud site and phone my creditcard again and hopefully they will find some way of getting my money back.0 -
Me too I have bought many things from the internet and never had a problem before. but I realised that this wasn't the case BUYITPLAYIT when I received the e mail below.
I decided to call them on it and have heard nothing since. I suppose law of averages means that we all come a cropper once in a while but it still makes me angry. Thankfully in my case at least it was only a small amount of money under £100.00 and they don't have any of my debit or credit card details to steal even more money . I did try to report it on-line to action fraud but they said it not a fraud case............!!!! perhaps they need to read these sites. I will contact uKash as I was unaware that they would be able to help. and see what I can come up with.

I think I have been rather stupid......searching onlind for the best prices for a Nikon Coolpix camera (ranging from £240 - £399) I found one on Buyitplayit for £140 plus £11.95 p&P - and bought it, followed all their instructions and paid cash (£151.95) to an ecash agent (a local garage). Yes they asked for copies of bank statements, passports, a picture of me - I complied as the request stated that this was to protect their employees. Delivery was initially set for 7th October, but then had an email saying I had not sent my documents, I sent again and have now sent about five emails, they always respond with the same answer no matter what I have said.
I am amazed I have been hooked - normally so vigilant, I suppose I have lost my money - birthday money from my father for this camera, which I now cannot afford . I had no idea it was a scam till I Googled them. What a numpty I am.............0
