Not to put a dampener on this but it does state that in the T&C on the website. I noticed just before I ordered. You can cancel at any time howeverNever give up the dream! :beer:0
-
Not a scam - ask them to cancel it for you.0
-
Just been looking at this does it mean that your will be sent a second box in 3 months but are at liberty to cancel, I can't see any conditions that tie you in long term?0
-
Scam is a word that means OP didn't bother to read the conditions. Why else do you think Virgin would do this if it was not to build their customer base?0
-
Wine clubs are the new book clubs with the added bonus to the seller that not many people will refuse wine delivered to them. They know this and just keep sending the cases out, safe in the knowledge that most people won't say no.0

As has been said not a scam, if you read the terms and conditions. I used a voucher for £40 off a £80 case, which signed me up to the £20/month for 3 months and they give you £20 free. I knew about it and could cancel it when I wanted to. In fact the 2nd or 3rd month I was skint and it went out my account, phoned them up, they refunded my money for me and cancelled my membership when I asked. So even if they do take the £20 from your bank you can get it back!
I personally like Virgin Wines and the wine club can be good value if you get bottles that are on offer as well! Haven't used them in a while though, my wine stocks are high enough!0 -
OP can you explain why this is a scam? Nobody forced you to accept the offer you were sent, you chose to accept an offer, part of which is membership to the virgin wines club. Next time, read the details.0

Not everyone checks this site every day.
True but most people who have started a thread are keen to see if it is responded to.0 -
Just fell prey to the same scam. More fool me I know for not reading the small print. Still, the end result is that I won't buy from Virgin Wines again because I feel the offer is disingenuous. If it said, '£40 OFF a case of Wine*
*When you join the Virgin Discovery Wine Club then fair enough. By the look of the internet forums though, we are not alone. Virgin must be paying an entire department to deal with these complaints - why not save the money, maintain the good reputation of your company and pass the savings onto the customer?0
