Can't pay for an item

I think its sorted now, seller is genuine I hope/think just teething issues:)grocery challenge Sept 2012 £21/£3990

Still not sorted, seller sent me invoice with seperate Paypal email addy, am I right in thinking if I do it that way, that the item won't be protected through Ebay as its not a direct payment of the invoice? The seller is new & doesn't know how to change the paypal email address on the completed listing, I have sent help pages to him as I don't know how to do it either. This is all taking a lot of time, I really needed this item before Thursday.
Is there any way I can just get out of this now as tbh I am losing patience and its really taking up way too much of my time, with emails back & forth and two cancelled payments through Paypal as email addy he gave twice is wrong:( I would like to stick with it, but on this occasion I just don't have the time as I need the item!grocery challenge Sept 2012 £21/£3990 -
Can anyone please help me?

I don't understand how your seller is failing to amend their Paypal address on the original invoice. If you have cancelled the unclaimed payment, then all they need to do is amend the recieving email address and re-invoice you in ebay. It really isn't hard to do which makes me wonder about your seller tbh!
Have you tried clicking 'Pay Now' again in 'My Account' and completing the transaction that way? If so, does it still say unclaimed?
I think I'd be like you and a bit wary.

The sytem doesn't let the seller change the email address after auction ends, the only way to redo it is to send a standalone invoice. On the few occasions I have mistyped my paypal ID there has been nothing at all I can do to change it, but I have at least corresponded with the buyer and apologised profusely and explained exactly why I need to send a seperate invoice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had an unclaimed payment last week and the seller somehow changed their PP email address to claim it. I thought you could do it that way?
I stand corrected!

Can you pay it by sending a payment through your paypal, you can link it to ebay goods, I think it does say that you should go through ebay checkout & you'd need to check to make sure that you are still covered by paypal.0

It might just be me of course- I sometimes think ebay make it difficult for me on purpose. I can only change my invoice paypal ID on multiple buys, otherwise the id box is solid/greyed outI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Outdoorlass - what value item are you talking about here? i.e. is it high value / highly scammable (new word?!!)
Is this item really worth taking a 'risk' you are uncomfortable with by paying like this?
If not, then, walk away and not worry. You paid through ebay, not your fault the payment was not claimed. You won't get a NPB as you can prove you paid - despite it being unclaimed.
Sometimes, you just have to step back and ask - is it really worth it?0
