Have you tried the suggestion I made and reseated the connector?
It's not difficult, not real techie stuff, there's nothing to 'break' in case you are concerned. I think you might find that's the problem.0 -

how do i reseat the connector ? sorry for being an idit ut i am scared of doing even more damage......could you advise me ?0 -

To reseat the connector you unplug it and then just plug it back in again.0 -
I have a problem with the zero key, in that it doesn't work. just rang dell (after putting up with it getting worse for a few months - and they've said they'll send me out a whole new keyboard. For free, as I'm still under warranty.0

well.... rang Dell yesterday after getting no reply to any emails and was onthe phone for almost an hour andthe whilst being transferred again got dis-connected and had to ring back.......holing on another hour.

he/she means remove the keyboard, and reseat the ribbon cable connector on the motherboard, as described in this link above:
