  • Well I got sent home again this morning. Managed to get a bit of sleep, still no major pains though. DH has been running around the house clearing everything away bless him as we were not quite ready for a new addition yesterday, lol. Got to go back in for 9am again tomorrow if it doesn't happen naturally to be induced.

Loving all the pressies received. I bought my DH a flip video camera for his birthday at the end of November for when the baby comes and he's actually managed to lose it. Not amused as their not exactly cheap and the baby's going to be here!!

Hope my bump date buddies aren't overdue. Glad I've started but now he's just teasing us lol :rotfl:

    Yay!!! Congratulations Jenjade!!!!! :j:j

    Fingers crossed for you KimmyMarky!!!

I am very glad that it's Boxing day - I am on strike. Christmas Eve DH & I cooked roast beef etc for 6 and yesterday we did christmas dinner for 9. My Mum and Grandma stayed for two nights and as much as I love them they are hard work as house guests.

DH gave me a lovely Bodyshop basket with anti stretchmark lotions and potions, a beautiful silver bracelet and vouchers to have a pedicure - he certainly paid attention to me and my witterings the last few weeks :D

4nnabella - could you advise if Boots would allow me to exchange or return the hugely expensive but sadly won't be used Gok Wan beauty products and vanity case. I don't have a gift receipt unfortunately? Thanks!

Worth a try hun... To be honest it's one of those things that's up to the store staff at the time. You're more likely to get an exchange/money on a gift card than a refund I reckon. But you could go to one store and the member of staff says no, go to another and they say yes... It also depends on whether the item's now gone into the sale as to how much they give you in credit. If you have no proof of how much was paid for it then they may only be able to give you the value of what it is now, rather than what it was pre-Christmas. But I think you would stand a good chance of getting something, after all, the Gok Wan stuff is only sold by Boots as far as I know, so there's no chance of it having been bought somewhere else. It's not like you're trying to return a bottle of perfume that could have been bought in another shop, IYSWIM.

    Hope that helps!

Be careful Icey, was a thread on the Grabbit board about someone trying to return a product to Boots without a receipt and the security got over zealous and she was took away for shoplifting, and had her bag etc searched through and after months and months eventually the charges were dropped and from what others were saying it wasn't exactly a one off occurrence.

I'd phone the store before hand and let them know you're coming. I love Boots too, but always feel nervous in there because of security. As Annabella said it will more than likely have went into the sale, which being half price is a bit pants. The only other thing I would suggest is maybe asking the person who bought the gift if they have the receipt as you received 2? Would mean you could get the full price and money back rather than half price and a gift card/exchange, although I suppose you could always exchange it for baby bits :D

Congratulations Jenjade, and anyone else I haven't congratulated yet!

Icey, I was pondering similar with the expensive but useless to me Soap and Glory set I got. But I also got a Boots gift card already, and I don't need any more baby stuff. :D

I'm so bored! I can't do anything fun cos I'm huge and creaky, my other half isn't back till tomorrow sometime, and I just want to have a baby and move on to the next stage! :D

This is what I was concerned about :( It's not really an option to ask my Grandma for the receipt, it's unlikely she will still have it and she'll more than likely feel a little hurt that I don't like her gift. I would rather exchange/return it for the sale value than hurt her feelings!

My DH is a police officer so I may ask him to take his warrant card with him tomorrow. I know it might not mean much to an over-zealous security guard but it might help if such an event were to occur. Of course I might be worrying unneccesarily but won't know until tomorrow.

I also have to exchange a scarf from my MIL (who is more than happy for me to exchange - she already said so and included a gift receipt). As my BIL pointed out it looks like a skinned Ewok :rotfl::eek::rotfl: really not sure how she got from the pashmina style scarf I showed her last time we were out to the skinned ewok but there we are :)

I would just phone and let them know you're coming then, they'l definitely be able to re-sell it, some folk on here go nuts for the half price gift sets, so I'm sure there are more of them about! :rotfl:

Be aswell getting half the money back for it, than it wasting away in the cupboard.

Grr OH is playing his stupid video game again, there's nowt on telly and I'm scared to put a DVD on in the bedroom as I know I'll more than likely fall asleep :o

I'll happily accept a Boots giftcard or variation of that rather than cash - I can then buy some baby bits :) I will give them a call in the morning, DH is on nights this weeks so we won't be going to the shopping centre until lunchtime / early afternoon anyway.
